PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for area decontamination and its related apparatus. SOLUTION: This method includes releasing a disinfectant from a disinfectant source to an area, controlling the level of the disinfectant in the area to a predetermined level without exceeding an allowable exposure limit and bringing the disinfectant into contact with microorganisms in the area to decontaminate the area. This apparatus is equipped with a mechanism for releasing a disinfectant from a disinfection source at a predetermined level without exceeding an allowable exposure limit in an area.
