<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of achieving the miniaturization thereof and capable of effectively releasing heat from a photoreceptor and a developing section. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes, for use in an electrophotographic image formation process: a cylindrical photoreceptor; a laser scanning section for emitting a scanning beam to the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor and forming an electrostatic latent image on the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor; the developing section for developing the electrostatic latent image formed on the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor by using a toner; a toner storage section for storing the toner supplied to the developing section; a vertical conveying path disposed so that a printing sheet may pass therethrough in contact with a part of the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor; and a transfer section for transferring the developed toner image from the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor to the printing sheet. The toner storage section is disposed at a predetermined distance from the developing section so as to form a space therebetween for releasing heat, and the laser scanning section emits the scanning beam toward the peripheral surface through the space to exposes the peripheral surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
