<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary kiln capable of efficiently burning a treating object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotary kiln 1 equipped with a kiln body 3 that rotates around an axis C is for rotating the kiln body 3 to stir the treating object W supplied from the upstream side of the kiln body 3, conveying the treating object W to the downstream side, and burning the treating object W. This rotary kiln 1 includes a lifter 12 provided to project from an inner wall 3a of the kiln body 3 and having a treating object holding face 12c extending in the axis C direction for stirring the treating object W inside the kiln body 3. This lifter 12 is provided with a jetting part 23 for supplying air being gas containing oxygen into the kiln body 3. Oxygen is provided by the jetting part 23 to combustion by the treating object W after being stirred by the lifter 12 and oxygen coming in contact with each other, and the treating object W that may exist in various conditions can be effectively burned.
