<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support column for a temporary scaffolding and its manufacturing method by which four of tightly connecting holders can be arranged on the same horizontal position regardless of a change in specification or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The invention includes, in the peripheral direction of a pipe body 12, a tightly-connecting position 15 which is composed of a pair of first tightly-connecting holders 16 arranged at the same heights and opposing each other at 180° and a pair of second tightly-connecting holders 17 arranged at the same heights and opposing each other at 180° while being dislocated from the first tightly-connecting holders 16 at 90° in the peripheral direction at the same heights. A leg plate 20 of the first tightly-connecting holder 16 becomes wider in the vertical direction when it approaches nearer to the pipe body 12, while a leg plate 25 of the second tightly-connecting holder 17 becomes narrower in the vertical direction when it approaches to the pipe body 12. Both the leg plates 20, 25 are arranged at an angle in a planar view and all upper edges of connection plates 21, 26 of the tightly-connecting holders 16, 17 are arranged on the substantially same horizontal plane.
