PACKET FORWARDING APPARATUS AND PACKET DISCARD METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet forwarding apparatus and a packet discard method that substantially discard a packet staying in a packet buffer for a predetermined period without reading out the packet from the packet buffer.

SOLUTION: A packet buffer management section 5 is managing the writing order of a packet for the writable address of a packet buffer 6, and the reading order of a packet from a written address. The order of the address is determined using a queue by the pointer of a pointer address corresponding to the address of the packet buffer 6.
