PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fin material made of an aluminum for a heat exchanger which reliably inhibits tool abrasion during forming process in the case of a fin material made of aluminum coated with an inorganic-type coating and generation of malodor derived from a contained inorganic component, and also inhibits generation of malodor derived particularly from organic matter remaining in a fin material coated with an organic resin type coating and moreover reliably maintains a sufficient hydrophilicity and keeps antifouling properties. SOLUTION: The fin material made of aluminum is obtained by coating the surface of an aluminum plate or an aluminum alloy plate with a resin layer containing, as a base, a resin containing one or more compounds selected from a compound group consisting of dibutylhydroxytoluene, a carbazide compound, L-ascorbic acid, sodium L-ascorbate, L-ascorbic acid ester with stearic acid, erythorbic acid, sodium erythorbate, sodium sulfite, and phytic acid.
