The interdental element (10) has a clamping area (12) and a flat holding area (14) which is connected to a rear end of the clamping area. The flat holding area extends in a plane which extends parallel to the rear end area of a central longitudinal axis (16) of the clamping area. The flat holding area has deflection bodies (22,24). The extension of the deflection body runs in a direction parallel to the rear end area of the central longitudinal axis. The extension is smaller than another extension which runs in a perpendicular direction.
