TISSUE EQUIVALANT FOR TRANSPLANTATION AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A tissue equivalent for transplantation having a three-dimensional structure which is incubated in vitro, contains cells to be transplanted and can be transplanted into a living body after the incubation, characterized by consisting of a support layer mainly comprising a cell incubation support constituting the three- dimensional structure and a cell layer which is localized at least in a part of the tissue equivalent for transplantation continuously with the support layer and contains the cells to be transplanted or cell matrix in a larger amount than the support layer. This tissue equivalent is appropriately employed as a tissue equivalent for transplantation in a relatively large size. This tissue equivalent enables early fixation to the neighborhood of the transplanted tissue and prevention of falling off.
