The system has an exhaust manifold (4) with a set of exhaust manifold pipes discharging the exhaust gas into a collecting pipe, so that the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine (2) is mixed with an exhaust gas catalytic converter arranged in the collecting pipe. A connecting device is provided between an exhaust manifold section and the collecting pipe, where the exhaust manifold section is positioned at one of the exhaust manifold pipes and/or at a cylinder head flange. Ends of the manifold pipes are opposite to the cylinder head flange.
