<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which stabilizes light output of a laser light source by reducing return light to the laser light source even a phase difference of a wide band wavelength plate deviates from an ideal value. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup device includes the laser light source 11A for radiating linear polarized light, a dielectric multilayer film 5A for radiating elliptically polarized light by giving a first phase difference to the linear polarized light radiated from the laser light source, and the wide band wavelength plate 7 for radiating the elliptically polarized light by giving a second phase difference to the elliptically polarized light which is given the first phase difference by the dielectric multilayer film. The direction of the linear polarized light radiated from the laser light source and the first phase difference are set so that the light reflected from a signal surface 21A of an optical disk 21 does not return to the laser light source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
