<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film excellent in antiglare performance and firmness of black color and excellent in terms of productivity, anti-curling, toughness, and ideal for an excellent display surface from the view point of display thickness reduction with high reproducibility and further having a satisfactory display contrast of a screen and excellent effects in improving viewing angle characteristics and antiglare properties and to provide a polarizing plate and an image display device provided with the optical film. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film has an antiglare layer on a transparent substrate. The antiglare layer contains a light transmissive resin and a first light transmissive particle constituting the antiglare layer, and having a thickness of from 8 μm to 15 μm, wherein the first light transmissive particle has a particle size (ϕA) of from 5.5 μ to 10 μ and a refractive index of the first light transmissive particle of from 1.55 μm to 1.58 μm, and a ratio (ϕA/t) of the particle size (ϕA) of the first light transmissive particle to the thickness (t) of the antiglare layer is from 0.30 to 0.75. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
