The element has two surfaces placed at a distance from each other and forming a hollow profile with an enclosed cross section. A hollow space (7) of the hollow profile is filled with hard substance e.g. aluminum foam, with small density. Adjustable coupling elements are provided between the surface element and a printing machine part for aligning and/or fixing the surface element. The coupling elements are provided with an adjustable eccentric bearing. The hollow space includes a sickle-shaped cross section. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a surface element for a printing machine.
