<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate distortion of image caused by a filtering process at the time of obtaining a digital signal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: an inputting means configured to input a characteristic parameter indicating the characteristics of filtering process; a detecting means for detecting, on the basis of the characteristic parameter input by the inputting means, a phase shift amount between an imaging signal and an obtained signal; a first construction means for constructing a first prediction tap to be used for predicting a target imaging pixel value from the phase-shifted obtained signal using the phase shift amount detected by the detecting means; a coefficient obtaining means for obtaining a first prediction coefficient generated in accordance with the characteristic parameter and the phase shift amount; and a first computation means for generating a first output signal corresponding to the imaging signal by performing product-sum computation of the value of the first prediction coefficient obtained by the coefficient obtaining means and the value of the first prediction tap output from the first construction means.
