<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable appropriate combustion of fuel in a compression ignition type internal combustion engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The compression ignition type internal combustion engine 1 is provided with a first supply means 20 or 40 supplying vaporizable incombustible prescribed fluid 25 or 45 into a cylinder 3, a second supply means 12 supplying fuel into a cylinder, and a control means 30 controlling the second supply means to supply fuel at top dead center after controlling the first supply means to supplying the prescribed fuel at prescribed timing closer to bottom dead center in compression stroke than top dead center in compression stroke.
