PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device wherein the variation of contact resistance between a switching device and a pixel electrode is prevented. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device has the steps for: forming a TFT 22 on an insulation substrate 1; forming a second interlayer insulating layer 11 so as to cover the drain electrode 10a of the TFT 22; forming, in the second interlayer insulating film 11, a third contact hole 12 reaching the drain electrode 10a; forming a transparent conductive film 13a for forming a pixel electrode so as to cover the second interlayer insulating film 11 and the third contact hole 12; and forming an insulating coating layer 14 so that the third contact hole 12 is filled up.
