<p>The sheath (1) has a longilineal body (2) including wall (10) that defines inner and outer surfaces (11, 12). A longitudinal slot or incision (4) is formed from one end to another end of the body. A flexible smooth protective band (5) is arranged inside the body in a plane passing through the slot or incision and opposite to the slot or incision. The protective band is made of non-woven material, and forms an envelope (6) inside the sheath. The envelope is fixed to the body through longitudinal edges (7a, 7b) of the protective band.
