PURPOSE: A fluorescent lamp contact unit for a backlight is provided to prevent the lead line of a fluorescent lamp from being damaged due to the expansion and contraction of the fluorescent lamp, and prevent the spark, noise and heat from being generated due to the poor contact. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent lamp contact unit for a backlight applies the power to a fluorescent lamp for the backlight mounted on a liquid crystal display, and comprises a contact terminal(50) and a compression cap(70). The contact terminal comprises a damping plate(53), a contact piece(51), a lead line pressing groove(513) and a coupling hole(55). The damping plate is positioned in the direction orthogonal to the lead line of the fluorescent lamp. The contact piece is formed so as to be extended to an upper part of the damping plate. The lead line pressing groove is cut and formed in the U shape at an upper part of the contact piece. The coupling hole is formed at a lower end of the damping plate so as to be connected to a power terminal. The compression cap consists of an upper plate(71) and a pair of contraction plates(73).
