The invention relates to a fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines with self-ignition, comprising a nozzle body (10). A conical valve seat surface (14) is formed at the injection end of a borehole (12), nozzle holes (20) extending from this valve seat surface. The inventive nozzle also comprises a valve needle (30) which opens in the opposite direction to the flow of fuel, against a closing force, and which is displaceably guided in the entry area of the borehole (12) facing away from the injection end. The valve needle has a closing cone (31) at its end facing towards the valve seat surface (14), said closing cone interacting with the valve seat surface (14). The invention is characterised in that the nozzle hole cross-section becomes wider again towards the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine after an initial narrowing. |
