PURPOSE: A method for controlling release oil pressure of an automatic transmitter for a lift foot up shift is provided to control release oil pressure of a friction element by correcting a duty value according to a slip rate of a torque converter in a lift foot up shift process. CONSTITUTION: A control part like a TCU(Transmission Control Unit) performs a lift foot up shift detecting process in order to detect a lift foot up shift. The control part finishes logic without a separate control in case the lift foot up shift does not belong to the lift foot up shift detecting process. The control part performs a determining process of an engine power state in case the lift foot up shift belongs to the lift foot up shift detecting process. An engine drive or engine inverse drive state is determined in the determining process of the engine power state. The engine drive state or engine inverse drive state is determined according to a positive state or negative state of a slip of a torque converter in the determining process of the engine power state. A predetermined duty value is corrected according to a slip rate of the torque converter in a process for controlling release oil pressure of a friction element.
