<p>Subject of the invention is a disconnecting device for low-voltage surge arrestors which disables the occurrence of a short-circuit inside a power network due to the disconnection of the drain connection part from the low-voltage surge arrestor. The disconnection device for low-voltage surge arrestors includes a drain connection part, a lower cover of the disconnecting device, a spring of the disconnecting device and an upper cover of the disconnecting device. The disconnecting device for low-voltage surge arrestors is attached to the drain conductor for connecting the low-voltage surge arrestor to the ground. Upon the breakdown of the low-voltage surge arrestor the spring of the disconnecting device pushes the lower and upper cover of the disconnecting device apart. As a consequence the lower cover of the disconnection device moves over the top of the electrically conducting drain terminal by which the occurrence of a short-circuit due to a direct contact between the drain terminal part and the metal enclosure of the electric cabinet is prevented.</p> |
