<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element hard to cause the trouble such as a crack or the like between a solid electrolyte and a duct forming layer. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor element 1 has the solid electrolyte 11, an electrode 12 on the side of a measuring target gas, an electrode 13 on the side of a reference gas and the duct forming layer 14. The duct forming layer 14 has a pair of the vertically provided surfaces 141 fronted on a duct 15 to be vertically provided in a laminating direction and the flat surface 142 opposed to the laminating surface 111 of the solid electrolyte 11 on the outside of a pair of the vertically provided surfaces 141. A buffer layer 16 for relaxing the stress acting across the solid electrolyte 11 and the duct forming layer 14 is formed between the laminating surface 111 and the flat surface 112. The first contact point 21, which is the contact point of the inside surface 140 fronted on the duct 15 in the buffer layer 16 and the laminating surface 111, is arranged to the region 3 between the mutual extension lines of a pair of the vertically provided surfaces 141 in the cross section crossing the axial direction of the gas sensor element 1 at a right angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
