PURPOSE: A thermal insulation structure of a cargo space in an LNG carrier is provided to improve space use efficiency of the cargo space by reducing the thickness of the whole insulation layer. CONSTITUTION: A thermal insulation structure of a cargo space which is installed independently in an inner hull of in an LNG carrier comprises an insulation box(100) with closed inner cavity and structural rigidity, and an insulator(110) composed of aerogel, polyurethane foam or polystyrene laminated or filled in the inner cavity of the insulation box. The insulation box is installed along the exterior of the cargo space.
