PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater capable of correctly determining abnormality. SOLUTION: This storage water heater comprises a hot water supply pipe 3 for supplying hot water to a hot water supply terminal, a bath hot water supply pipe 31 for supplying hot water to a bathtub 7, a terminal water supply pipe 61 and a bath water supply pipe 62 branched from a water supply pipe 4, a bath mixing means 5 for mixing the hot water from the bath hot water supply pipe 31 and the water from the bath water supply pipe 62, a hot water filling means 18 for starting/stopping the filling of hot water to the bathtub 7, a terminal flow rate detecting means 20 detecting the amount of hot water to the hot water supply terminal 9, a bath flow rate detecting means 17 detecting the flow rate to the bathtub 7, and a control means 10 controlling the hot water filling means 18, and determines the abnormality when the bath flow rate detecting means 17 does not detect the flow rate for more than a specific time during filling of hot water to the bathtub 7. The determination of abnormality is canceled when the terminal flow rate detecting means 20 detects the flow rate, though the bath flow rate detecting means 17 does not detect the flow rate for more than the specific time.
