<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the measurement time, after preventing sensitivity changes in the luminous energy detection. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A current carried to a source electrode s of a TFT 11, when an electrode gate electrode g is changed from on-voltage to off-voltage relative to the source electrode s is converted to a voltage signal Vmon by an operational amplifier 16 and a resistance element 17. Based on the differential waveform which appears in the signal Vmon, the incident luminous energy to the TFT 11 is determined. For example, a time Tob for the signal Vmon to reach a threshold voltage A/e, after change of a pulse signal Gp to off-voltage, is measured, and the time Tob is converted into a light-receiving quantity.
