<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a drunkometer capable of preventing a failure due to a splash of drinking water or the like; and a drunk-driving prevention device having the same drunkometer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An alcohol sensor 4 is configured to detect alcohol component contained in sweat from a palm when a driver's palm touches a detection face 4A, and is fixed to an under cover near a driver's seat of a vehicle with the detection face 4A facing downward in the gravitational direction. This constitution eliminates the splash of spilt drinking water onto the detection face 4A of the alcohol sensor 4 or sticking and accumulation of dust thereon so as to previously prevent a failure of the alcohol sensor 4, lowering of the detection accuracy, and shortening of the durable life. Consequently, the dunk-drinking prevention device having the alcohol sensor 4 can appropriately detect the drunk state of a driver of a vehicle for a long period of time and appropriately prevent the drunk driving.
