The inventive method involves organising a standing wave and swirling a water flow to be cleaned in a lower mass exchange chamber (1) in order to create a vacuum along a central axis, to intake air, to form two water counterflows interacting in such a way that a standing wave is formed and to saturate the water flow with oxygen. The device comprises a cylindrical mixing chamber which is divided, with the aid of a partition (8), into an upper mass exchange chamber (2) and a lower mass exchange chamber (1), which partition being provided with an opening (4) coaxial to an air feeding pipe (5) and a by-pass channel (6) arranged along the periphery thereof. The initial water to be cleaned is swirled in the lower mass exchange chamber (1) and intakes, owing to the vacuum formed in the center, the air from the air feeding pipe (5), thereby forming, by virtue of the standing wave, a hydrosol and an ion-exchange reaction area. A part of the treated flow is discharged into a large container (15) across the penetrable wall (7) in the side surface of the upper mass exchange chamber (2). At least one cylindrical mixing chamber is arranged in the large container (15). Said container is provided with branch pipes (11, 12) for removing formed insoluble substances and pure water. A branch pipe (13) for discharging waste air is mounted in the upper part of the container (15). Said invention makes it possible to remove different impurities from natural and waste water without using chemical reagents.
