PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting apparatus capable of performing the cleaning work of a conveying belt without impairing the operational efficiency of the liquid jetting apparatus. SOLUTION: The liquid jetting apparatus comprises a recording head 29 capable of jetting ink from a nozzle 30 formed in a nozzle forming surface 29a, a paper sheet conveying mechanism 13 for conveying paper sheets 12 so as to pass the position opposing the nozzle forming surface, and a sheet conveying mechanism 15 for conveying a maintenance sheet 14 capable of receiving ink jetted from a nozzle as waste liquid so as to pass the position opposing the nozzle forming surface. The sheet conveying mechanism 15 includes an endless conveying belt 23 in a turning motion so as to form a circulating path passing through the position opposing the nozzle forming surface. The maintenance sheet 14 is brought into contact with a surface on the loading side during the conveyance of the paper sheets on the conveying belt 23 with the differential speed on a part of the path conveyed by the sheet conveying mechanism 15.
