An upright type vacuum cleaner is provided to reduce the load of the cleaner and increase the convenience in the cleaning operation by selectively separating the nozzle mounting unit from the body. An upright type vacuum cleaner comprises a nozzle mounting unit(400) in which a mini nozzle is received, and selectively separated from the body. The nozzle mounting unit contains: a receiving unit(410) molded like a shape corresponding with the rear of the mini nozzle; a separation prevention unit(420) molded like a shape corresponding with the one side of the upper side of the mini nozzle at the upper end of the receiving unit so as to limit the separation of the mini nozzle; a mounting unit(430) molded like a shape corresponding with the lower surface of the mini nozzle at the lower end of the receiving unit and mounted with the mini nozzle; and a combining unit(440) projected at the rear of the receiving unit to preclude the receiving unit from being separated from the body by receiving one side of the body.
