<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide property-improved zinc oxide which reduces the amount of zinc oxide used in a sulfurization accelerator, brings down costs, saves zinc metal, and reduces the amount of zinc oxide contained in rubber dust generated by tire wear in travel to thereby reduce air pollution, and to provide a method for producing the zinc oxide. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the property-improved zinc oxide includes: providing zinc oxide fine particles; uniformly mixing the zinc oxide fine particles and stearic acid by stirring in a weight ratio of 1:(0.5-1.5); and forming the zinc oxide and stearic acid in one with improved properties after combined heat melting to obtain zinc oxide having a sort of high dispersing ability.
