The invention relates to a client with a data connection, a memory and a processor, which is connected to the data connection and to the memory, for downloading a multiplicity of partial files, which together form an overall set and represent a cohesive work which lasts at least approximately for unknown overall reproduction duration, for reproduction of the work of or of a work part thereof via a loudspeaker and/or a screen, a projector or the like, with the client being designed to first of all download a first subset of the partial files, to store this in the memory and to start the reproduction of the entire work or work part thereof automatically when a reproduction duration of the work or of the work part to be reproduced therefrom is at least sufficiently long as a rest download time, extrapolated from the time for downloading the first subset of the partial files with a known data volume, for the downloading of a remaining subset of partial files which are required in order to reproduce the entire work or the work part to be reproduced therefrom. |
