<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing a seed of a fruit by which the seed can be removed without changing the direction of the seed into a horizontal direction, and capable of obtaining the meat of the fruit in good yield. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for removing the seed includes: a cylindrical receiving body 16 having a tapered inner periphery surface 17 having the diameter reduced downward, and for supporting the fruit A on the tapered periphery surface 17; a rubber plate 15 arranged at the lower position of the cylindrical receiving body 16 and having a plurality of slits radially extending in the radial direction from the plate center part; and a rod body 8 moving in the upper and lower direction so as to pass a cylindrical opening part 36 of the cylindrical receiving body 16. The apparatus 1 is constituted so that the seed T may be taken out by allowing the fruit A put on the tapered inner periphery surface 17 of the cylindrical receiving body 16 to be penetrated downward by the rod body 8 to take out the seed, and may pass through the slits of the rubber plate 15. The apparatus 1 also has an upper part-pushing member 11 for pushing the fruit A put on the tapered inner periphery surface 17 of the cylindrical receiving body 16 from above.
