<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that efficiently and securely discharge waste toner into a waste toner recovery container. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes each of a plurality of image carriers 1Y, 1M, 1C, and 1K arranged in series and each of discharge openings 51Y, 51M, 51C, and 51K arranged in accordance with the image carriers respectively to discharge waste toner, and includes a plurality of cleaning means 17 of cleaning waste toner on the image carriers. The image forming apparatus further includes the waste toner recovery container 50 which includes a waste toner leveling means 55 inside and recovers waste toner discharged from each of the discharge openings, and a waste toner amount detecting means 59 of detecting amounts of waste toner from the image carriers for each image carrier, the waste toner leveling means 55 is driven so as to convey waste toner from an image carrier side where the amount of waste toner is large to an image carrier side where the amount of waste toner is small in the same direction as the arrangement direction of the image carriers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
