PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a developer from being co-moved and redeposited, while reducing a developer stress in an upstream area of a regulation position by a developer regulation member. SOLUTION: A magnet roller 147 includes N2 pole and N3 pole of the same polarity (N pole) adjacent each other for generating a magnetic force for separating the developer after passing a developing zone from a developing sleeve 141. The developing sleeve is arranged not to bring a developer separation area P on the developing sleeve positioned in an upper side of the developer stored in a supply chamber 149A, to make a separation force directed toward a direction separated from the developing sleeve act on the developer on the developing sleeve by the magnetic forces of the N2 pole and N3 pole, into contact with the developer in the supply chamber under a driving state. The magnet roller is constituted to make a normal-directional magnetic flux density within the developer separation area same-polar-directional to the N2 pole and N3 pole over the whole area, and to have no maximum point.
