PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry analytical element for the measurement of HDL-C while suppressing the interference of lipoproteins other than HDL. SOLUTION: The dry analytical element for the measurement of a high density lipoprotein cholesterol has at least one layer on a support. The layer comprises a nonionic surfactant of 3-22 g/m<SP>2</SP>, a buffer of 0.1-40 mmol/m<SP>2</SP>, dextran sulfate with a molecular weight of 36,000-50,000, a divalent metal ion and reagents for measuring high density lipoprotein cholesterol.
