摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which has a reverse tilt domain reduced in comparison with conventional liquid crystal devices and is capable of improving the display quality by preventing the occurrence of a ripple phenomenon. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An opening 11a of a second electrode 11 is formed of long side parts 11L extending in an extension direction of the opening 11a and short side parts 11S extending in a width direction of the opening 11a and defining an end part 11e of the opening 11a, and the long side parts 11L form an acute angle to a reverse rotation direction RI opposite to a rotation direction RD with respect to an initial alignment direction D of liquid crystal molecules M and have projections P projecting to the inside of the opening 11a, in the middle, and each projection P has a first inclined part P1 on the side nearer to an intersection 11I between the long side part 11L and the short side part 11S, and an acute angle θ1 formed between the first inclined part P1 and the initial alignment direction D is larger than an acute angle θ formed between the long side part 11L and the initial alignment direction D.
