<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a droplet ejection device that can efficiently carry out a maintenance action on its ejection head and can be made compact as a whole, and a droplet ejection method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The droplet ejection device comprising an ejection head 3 that has a nozzle face whereon a plurality nozzles are disposed and ejects a droplet D of a functional liquid from each of the nozzles disposed on the nozzle face, an hitting-accuracy measurement unit 13 that measures the hitting accuracy of the droplet D by causing the droplet D ejected from each of the nozzles to hit a sheet member 71, and a head-moving means that moves the ejection head 3 between a hitting area of an ejection object to be hit by the droplet D ejected from each of the nozzles and a maintenance area inclusive of the hitting-accuracy measurement area wherein the sheet member 71 is disposed, is characterized in that the ejection head 3 carries out the flushing action of ejecting droplet D from each of the nozzles onto the sheet member 71, in the hitting-accuracy measurement area.
