<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide recording/reproducing apparatus/method for correcting crosstalk of a main beam more precisely than a conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: When recording and reproducing data, an optical information recording medium is irradiated with a main beam and a sub-beam. The spot of the sub-beam has a shape with a width narrower than the width of a spot of the main beam. The apparatus is arranged in such a way that a groove adjacent to a track with which the main beam is irradiated with the spot of the sub-beam, or an edge of the spot of the sub-beam is brought into contact with an edge of the spot of the main beam and it is brought into contact with a tangent parallel to a track direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
