<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lens fixing method capable of fixing an existing lens in a lens cell regardless of material of the lens and shape of an edge part by optically welding the lens in the lens cell by the use of an outer peripheral surface of a presser member also having a diaphragm function. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the lens fixing method, the presser member 40 and the lens cell 10 are optically welded by bringing the outer peripheral surface 41A of the presser member 40 into contact with an inner peripheral surface of the lens cell 10, and irradiating a welding part YP, which is their contact surface part, with welding light ML. In the method, the welding light ML is non-visible light, the lens cell 10 is composed of welding light-absorbing resin material, the presser member 40 is composed of welding light-transmitting resin material which intercepts visible light but transmits the welding light, then a welding light reflective surface 42 is formed through a predetermined gap 43 between the lens 30 surface abutting on the presser member 40 and the reflective surface 42, and the welding light ML is made incident from a lens insertion part 12 on a side where the presser member 40 is arranged, and is reflected by the welding light reflective surface 42 toward the outer peripheral surface 41a of the presser member 40, whereby the welding part YP is irradiated with the welding light ML to achieve welding.
