INFORMATION DISPLAY SYSTEM, INFORMATION DISPLAY METHOD, AND PROGRAM

An information display system includes: an external storage device; a writer for writing an identifier for identifying an arbitrary data item into an external storage device; a mobile terminal for reading the identifier from the external storage device; and an update server. The update server stores correlation information which correlates the identifier with recognizable information expressed in a format through which the user can recognize the identifier, together with a version number indicating the number of updates of the correlation information. If the version number information from the mobile terminal does not coincide with the latest version number information stored, the update server transmits the stored correlation information and the latest version number information to the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal stores the correlation information and the latest version number information from the update server, displays the recognizable information contained in the correlation information, and transmits the version number information to the update server at a predetermined timing.
