ANTIVIRAL EFFECT OF RAULIC ACID AND THEREOF

PURPOSE: An antivirus composition containing lauric acid as an active ingredient is provided to ensure the activity for suppressing proliferation to rhino virus, coxsackie virus, and enterovirus. CONSTITUTION: An antivirus composition contains lauric acid of the chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The dose of the lauric acid is generally 50 mg/kg a day, preferably 20-100 mg/kg a day. The lauric acid is obtained by drying and pulverizing 200g of Raulria Austalis and dipping in ether for 48 hours. The crude extract of the lauric acid is obtained by decompress-concentrating under 40°C.
