PURPOSE: A daily maximal allowable contamination load calculation method using a river maintenance flow rate is provided to maintain the consistency between upper and lower streams and to present the realistic target amount. CONSTITUTION: A daily maximal allowable contamination load calculation method using a river maintenance flow rate is as follows. An object area for determining the river maintenance flow rate is selected. The necessary flow rate of the chosen object area and the necessary flow rate are calculated. For the necessary flow rate, the mean minimum flow and the ecology are considered according to each area stream. For the necessary flow rate, the external appearance is considered. The determined river maintenance flow rate becomes the standard flow rate.
