BORONIZING METHOD OF A GRAY CAST IRON

PURPOSE: A method of boronizing a grey cast iron is provided to minimize the influence of carbon and silicon in the grey cast iron by infiltrating the boron into a surface of the grey cast iron. CONSTITUTION: A method of boronizing a grey cast iron comprises the following steps of: polishing a surface of the grey cast iron and removing the organic material; charging a powder boronizing material in the surface of the grey cast iron; boronizing the grey cast iron which is mounted in a furnace of 700°C for 20 hours; and air-cooling the boronized grey cast iron.
