The process of producing a fluid (9) enriched in argon using a column (1) comprising first and second sections and first and second exchangers condensing the gaseous flow of the column, comprises introducing a mixture (11) of argon and oxygen (1-60%) in a tank of the column, and removing the fluid enriched in argon from the top of the column and the exchangers. The first exchanger (3) is present at the top. The second exchanger is present between the first and the second sections, and between 18-60 theoretical plates above the tank of the column. The process of producing a fluid (9) enriched in argon using a column (1) comprising first and second sections and first and second exchangers condensing the gaseous flow of the column, comprises introducing a mixture (11) of argon and oxygen (1-60%) in a tank of the column, and removing the fluid enriched in argon from the top of the column and the exchangers.
