<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ribbon feeding device which assures a large winding amount using a single ribbon rewinding mechanism when an ink ribbon wound by either surface winding system and back winding system is attached to a ribbon feeding shaft. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ribbon feeding device is provided with: a rewind rotating shaft 17 arranged in parallel with the ribbon feeding shaft 11; a rotation transmission means comprising a small gear 16 and a large gear 19 and for transmitting rotation between the ribbon feeding shaft 11 and the rewind rotating shaft 17; and a turning member 18 for accumulating the urging force rotating the rewind rotating shaft 17 reversely into a torsion coil spring 21 by rotation of the rewind rotating shaft 17 transmitted from the ribbon feeding shaft 11 by the rotation transmission means, In the ribbon feeding device, when rotation of the rewind rotating shaft 17 based on the urging force accumulated in the torsion coil spring 21 is transmitted to the ribbon feeding shaft 11 by the rotation transmission means, the amount of the rotation is increased.
