PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and compact rotational position sensor for detecting the rotational angle position of a rotator with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The rotational position sensor includes a sensor unit 70 including a rotator 40 rotatably supported around a predetermined axis line L by a bearing unit of housings 10, 20, a movable sensor element 71 provided on the rotator to detect the rotational angle position of the rotator, and a fixed sensor element 72 provided on the housings. The rotator 40 includes a tapered annular contact face 42a defining a part of a virtual cone face C with a vertex P on the axis line L. The bearing unit includes a tapered annular bearing face 32a rotatably supporting the annular contact face on the virtual cone face C. With this structure, the rotating body is always located on the axis line owing to an automatic alignment effect. Therefore, it is possible to detect the rotational angle position of the rotator with high accuracy even when a change such as wear occurs in the bearing area with time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
