The cockpit (10) has a detachable, mountable and demountable cockpit lining comprising an instrument panel upper part (16) that is arranged above a support frame (12) in an installed condition. The upper part has a geometry, which is coordinated to the geometry of a component of the cockpit in such a manner that the coordinated geometry defines a mounting curve. The upper part is mounted and/or demounted separately within a motor vehicle i.e. sports vehicle, along the mounting curve. The mounting curve is defined by a guiding structure.
