The device which serves for testing the tooth profiles of toothed wheels having involute teeth has a rolling disc (46) to which the toothed wheel (43) to be tested can be firmly connected. A rolling straight-edge (55) can roll free from slip on the rolling disc, and a rolling carriage (61) can be displaced parallel to the rolling straight-edge at an adjustable distance from the rolling straight-edge. A pivoted lever (48) carried by the rolling carriage connects the rolling straight-edge and rolling carriage to one another in an articulated fashion via two fulcrums (56, 58). Guided on the rolling carriage is a displaceable axial carriage (63) on which there are arranged a tracer (69) for tracing the tooth profiles of the toothed wheel to be tested and a guide track (65) which can be adjusted in accordance with the tooth pitch of said toothed wheel. Furthermore, an auxiliary carriage (60) is guided on the rolling carriage and carries a guide member (66) which can be displaced along the guide track. The pivoted lever can be pivoted about a third fulcrum (76), which is situated outside the axis of the rolling disc, and is connected to the rolling straight-edge and the rolling carriage such that it can be displaced in its longitudinal direction. <IMAGE>
