<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method which enables appropriate measures to be taken also in the case such as where nonejection nozzles arise in a recording head when recording a line image, and to provide an image forming apparatus using this image processing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the image processing method, image formation is carried out on a medium to be recorded while the recording head and the medium are relatively moved. The method includes the process of acquiring recording characteristic information of recording elements, the density unevenness correction information calculating process of acquiring density unevenness correction information from the acquired recording characteristic information, an unfit image detecting process of detecting an unevenness correction unfit image from data of the input image, the image abnormality determination processing process of determining according to the density unevenness correction information and a detection signal of the unevenness correction unfit image whether or not an uncorrectable state arises, and the image abnormality notifying process of notifying a user of an image abnormality according to the determination result in the image abnormality determination processing process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
