<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of a transportation amount of liquid due to a compressive strain of a piezoelectric layer in a liquid transport device. <P>SOLUTION: When an inkjet head 3 is manufactured, a cavity plate 21 made of a metallic material of a fluid channel unit 31 which is fabricated beforehand is bonded to a piezoelectric layer 41 of a piezoelectric actuator 32 with a heat-curable adhesive. After that, by applying a voltage across a discrete electrode 44 and a common electrode 43, a portion of a piezoelectric layer 42 sandwiched by the electrodes is polarized in a direction of its thickness (to be an active section R1). Concurrently to the above, by applying a voltage across the common electrode 43 and the fluid channel unit 31 having conductivity, a portion of the piezoelectric layer 41 sandwiched thereby is polarized in a direction of its thickness so as to shrink the portion of the piezoelectric layer 41 in its face direction. By the shrinking, the active section R1 is stretched in the face direction so that a compressive strain of the active section R1 is absorbed (to be a compressive strain absorption section R2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
