<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image of high quality by conveying a developer to a developing area in an uniformly distributed state by use of a developer carrier having irregularities formed on a surface thereof by grooving, thereby preventing density unevenness and enhancing dot reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: A developing sleeve 22 which carries and conveys the developer on a surface includes grooves 33 regularly formed on the surface, each of the grooves having a wavy-lined shape in which its inclination direction to an axis is cyclically changed in an opposite direction and never intersecting with the other grooves. Accordingly, the uniformity of developer distribution can be enhanced by preventing conveyance unevenness of the developer corresponding to a groove pitch and facilitating axial movement of the developer in developer conveyance. Since the inclination direction to the axis is cyclically changed in the opposite direction, the developer is hardly gathered to one side, and there is no intersection of grooves, and thereby there is no possibility that the unevenness of the intersection occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
